Silicone O-Rings offer wide temperature ranges and low temperature flexibility. Silicone is renowned for their ability to maintain flexibility and resist compression set. Silicone exhibits one of the broadest working temperature ranges among elastomer. These O-rings also excel in heat resistance, cold flexibility, and insulation properties.
However, they are not suitable for dynamic O-ring sealing applications due to their low tear strength and high coefficient of friction. Additionally, silicone performs poorly with concentrated acids, fuels, gear oils, ketones, steam, and similar substances.
Advantages:
- Good resistance to oxygen, ozone, and sunlight
- Outstanding heat and compression resistance
- Resistance to fungal and biological attack
- Good chemical resistance
- Effective electrical insulation
- Compliant with FDA standards
- Flexible
Applications:
- Mineral oils with low additive contents
- Food processing machinery industry
- Household appliance industry
- Sunlight, ozone, and weathering protection
- Wide temperature range applications
- Medical industries
- Electronics
