FEPM O‑Ring – Advanced Fluoro‑Elastomer Seal

Tetrafluoroethylene‑propylene copolymer (FEPM), commonly branded as Aflas®, offers the ideal balance of chemical resistance, heat stability, and mechanical performance for demanding sealing applications. With a temperature range of approximately –37 °C to +232 °C, FEPM surpasses traditional FKM in resisting hot water, steam, and aggressive chemical additives. Its fully fluorinated backbone delivers excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, complex solvents, brake and steering fluids, amines, H₂S, petroleum-based oils, silicon oils, and steam. This makes FEPM a go‑to material for chemical‑processing, oil and gas, automotive, and power‑generation environments.

Mechanically, FEPM O‑rings boast high tensile strength, strong compression resistance, and low compression set that allowing them to maintain integrity under thermal cycling and pressure fluctuations.

Typical uses include pump and valve seals, downhole oilfield equipment, automotive braking systems, and steam distribution. FEPM’s combined chemical resilience and heat tolerance make it an excellent cost‑effective alternative to FFKM.
